In the Cumberland Plateau Mountains there are many great hiking trails where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains. All through the summertime at Sheltowee Trace Trail temperatures are frequently in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are typically in the 40's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Sheltowee Trace Trail temperatures plunge to the 20's.

This part of Kentucky has a great deal of available outdoors activities. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Sheltowee Trace Trail. Looking for some flowing water? Try Fishing Creek, and there's whitewater on Bark Camp Creek for all you adrenaline junkies.

If you're interested in hydro structures, you can have a look at Noes Breakwater, and if you came to camp Twin Branch Shelter Campground is a nice place to do that. A long drive separates Corbin from Sheltowee Trace Trail, but it is a good trail. Sheltowee Trace Trail ordinarily gets a great deal of precipitation; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is October.

flows, like Laurel River. There's so much to do here at Sheltowee Trace Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Bark Camp Shelter Campground is a good place for that. There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Laurel River, and Sheltowee Trace Trail is a site with many visitors from Corbin.
