Getting to Sodom Brook from Richard Trail is painless. Camping is available at Prospect Mountain Campground; why not take a little spree to Pond Brook since you're here. in the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Richard Trail temperatures sink to the 0's. The Gorge is a great site to stop at close by, and Westfield River has a delightful whitewater paddling spot close by. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can
| always go whitewater paddling on Little River, and you can take a little tour to Russell Pond Dam while you're here at Richard Trail. Finally, hiking time is here again, and Richard Trail in Hampden County, Massachusetts is such a great place. A great spot to camp here at Richard Trail is Wilderness Experience Unlimtd, and if you're visiting from Springfield, you won't be the only one. Richard Trail is a relatively wet place commonly with a great deal of rain; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while January is frequently the driest month.
