| | Pretty far from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria you find Loop Trail but it is a good trail. So much amusing stuff to do at Loop Trail, so little time. From a rain point of view Loop Trail is a quite normal location; August is the month that gets the most rain, and February is when it's the driest.
The surroundings of this river have so much to offer. If you came for an overnight stay Patuxent Camp Sites is a splendid site to camp, and there's a magnificent forest called Cedarville State Forest. A quick tour to Wolf Den Branch in close proximity |
to Loop Trail is a magnificent idea, and if you have time, Fort Washington Park is a national park worth going to.
Summertime highs at Loop Trail usually tend to be in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 70's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's, and after the
| sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Loop Trail plunge into the 20's. Why not camp at Duncan's Family Campground if you're here at Loop Trail, and there are some brilliant whitewater spots on Anacostia River. Lots of people from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria come to Loop Trail, and there's whitewater on Anacostia River - Northwest Branch for all you adrenaline rush seekers.
