| | Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Panhandle Trail. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 70's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Panhandle Trail. Panhandle Trail is a trail quite far from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria but it is a good trail.
Why not camp at Cedarville State Park if you're here at Panhandle Trail, and if you have time, Fort Washington Park is a national park worth going to. If you came for an overnight stay Duncan's Family Campground |
is a great site to camp, and Anacostia River has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot close by. The yearly rainfall here at Panhandle Trail is about average; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is February.
