| | You'll have to go far from Chambersburg to get to Spiderbush Nature Trail but hiking it is great fun any time. A visit to Maryland is not complete without some hiking. There are some great whitewater spots on Hunting Creek; do put some time aside to spend at Cunningham Falls if you're here at Spiderbush Nature Trail. Spiderbush Nature Trail gets a typical amount of rainfall; May is when you get the most rain here; the driest month of the year is February.
Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Owens Creek; Spiderbush |

Nature Trail is great enough to spend more than a day at, William Houck Campground is a great local campground. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. You'll meet a lot of folks from Chambersburg here. A great place to camp here at Spiderbush Nature Trail is Cunningham
| Falls State Park, and if you're interested in hydro structures, you can pop by Hunting Creek Dam.
All our national parks are fine spots to pop by, and Catoctin Mountain Park is no exception, and some of the water close by flows, like Hauver Branch. At Spiderbush Nature Trail through the summer highs are in the 80's while night lows are frequently in the 60's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Spiderbush Nature Trail through the winter commonly dip into the 10's.
