Abol Trail

  Pretty far from Bangor you find Abol Trail but hiking along this trail is very enjoyable. Abol Trail is good enough to spend more than a day at, Roaring Brook Campground is a good local campground. A short journey to Katahdin Falls is always worthwhile, and Witherle Ravine is also a magnificent place to discover. There's so much to do here at Abol Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Chimney Pond Campground is a glorious place for that. If you come
    at the right time of year, Nesowadnehunk Stream River offers some wonderful whitewater. Thoreau Spring is always fun to check out; there are some good whitewater spots on Nesowadnehunk Stream. High temperatures at Abol Trail all through
the days of summer are in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's, and nighttime lows at Abol Trail through the wintertime regularly descend into the-10's. Abol Trail gets a normal amount of rain. July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February.
