Bowditch Trail

  This part of Maine is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season. You'll have to go far from Rockland to get to Bowditch Trail but hiking is such a fun thing to do and this is a great place to do that. Bull Brook is a great local stream; there are some splendid whitewater spots on Goose Falls. A glorious location to camp here at Bowditch Trail is Greenlaws RV and Tenting Park, and Sawyer Ledge is around here, and is a good spot. Take a side trip to Merchant
    Brook, and Deep Cove is not far at all. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Blue Hill Falls; a trip to Boom Beach is always a pleasant idea. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff in one place! Bowditch Trail is great! People from Matinicus
love to come to Bowditch Trail; Bowditch Trail is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Duck Harbor Campground is a perfect local campground. On a wonderful day you can pop by Goss Beach close to Bowditch Trail, and a trip to Holbrook Island Sanctuary State Park is a tremendous idea. For the period of the warm months here at Bowditch Trail, high temperatures commonly get into the 70's while nighttime lows are mostly in the 50's. Highs through the winter  
are generally in the 20's with temperatures at Bowditch Trail dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. Bowditch Trail gets a typical amount of annual rain. Of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
