While you're here at Deer Brook Trail it's a good idea to explore Southwest Valley; a short visit to Maple Spring is always worthwhile.

A pleasant tour to Amphitheater Valley is a perfect way to spend an afternoon, and Acadia National Park is a brilliant local destination. Branch Lake Stream has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot nearby. You are in the neighborhood of Tumbledown Cove since you're here at Deer Brook Trail, and on a wonderful day you can check out Echo Lake Beach.
