| | We all need to get out in nature once in a while and Round Trail in Aroostook County, Maine is a perfect place for getting out. If you are in Maine during hiking season you have to go hiking. There are some great whitewater spots on Machias River, and Homestead Lodge is a fine campground nearby. Round Trail gets a common amount of rainfall; through the month of August you get the most rain around here; the driest month is February.
Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Fish River, and don't forget to take |
a perfect little journey to Weeks Brook. Rowe Brook is a scenic stream that is worth visiting, and Umcolcus Sporting Camps is a great local campground.
High temperatures at Round Trail during the summer months are in the 70's while overnight lows are usually in the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are typically in the 10's with temperatures at Round Trail dipping down into the-10's during winter nights.
