There are many wonderful hiking trails in the White Mountains where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains. Because Royce Trail is very far from civilization there's great natural beauty awaiting you along it. You definitely should adore Royce Trail.

without first paying a visit to Mad River Falls. Royce Trail gets a normal amount of yearly rain; August is when you get the most rain here, and January is when it's the driest. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the White Mountains. It's a fine idea to pop by Mad River, it's right
| next door to Royce Trail, and get your heart beating on the splendid whitewater of Saco River - East Branch.
A quick journey to Mad River in the vicinity of Royce Trail is a glorious idea. There's so much to do here at Royce Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Basin Pond Campground is a perfect place for that. Stay the night at Cold River Campground, and a tremendous spot is Evans Notch.
A visit to Maine is not complete without some hiking. At Royce Trail all through the summer months highs are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Royce Trail temperatures fall to the 0's. | |
