Royce Trail   Hiked the Royce trail to the east Royce trail to the top of east Royce mtn, with Jim and our dog Jake. Great hike!! Plenty of water for the first couple of miles  if your thinking of taking a dog along with you, but you still will need water for the top. The hike starts off mellow and along a gorge with a beautiful river flowing along side. There are a few stream crossings that were not that hard and it is possible to stay dry. then the trail starts uphill.     Some parts were grown in but the trail is easy to follow. It is rocky and rooty. I would suggest boots rather than sneakers but I did make it in trail sneakers. We only saw one other person, so my guess is that it's not a very busy trail.
