Shore Trail is located quite a long drive from Bangor but it is a great escape from the city. Stay the night at King's Trailer Park, and Shore Trail is not far at all from Bangor. Shore Trail is a glorious location to visit for more than one day, South Branch Lake Camp is a glorious location to camp nearby; if you come at the right time of year, Schoodic Stream offers some wonderful whitewater. Looking for some flowing water? Try     Roaring Brook, and drift down the rapids of Piscataquis River in a kayak.
