Sand Beach is in the neighborhood of South Gorham Mountain Trail if you're in a beach type of mood, and there's a good forest called The Black Woods. Acadia National Park is a pleasant national park, and why not take a look at Thunder Hole also since you're here. South Gorham Mountain Trail is a reasonably wet place ordinarily with much precipitation; most of the rain falls through November while August is mostly the driest month.

Brook is one of the streams nearby that might be worth going to, and you can always enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Hunters Beach. For the period of the summer months at South Gorham Mountain Trail highs are generally in the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's.
