  Many miles from the nearest city you have Valley Trail and it is a really good trail. Hiking in Maine is such a great thing to do. Valley Trail commonly gets a large amount of rainfall; through November this area sees the most rain while August is usually the driest month. There's whitewater on Blue Hill Falls for all you adrenaline junkies, and a short trip to Man O'War Brook Falls is always worthwhile.
And if that's not enough, there's heaps more to do near Valley Trail. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Union River; you can always enjoy
    a lazy day on the beach at Echo Lake Beach. Nothing beats kicking back at Cobble Beach, and if you came for an overnight stay Smuggler's Den Campground is a tremendous place to camp. Summertime highs at Valley Trail regularly tend to be in the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of
summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's while Valley Trail night low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 10's.
Since you're here at Valley Trail why not check out Great Notch; why not take a look at Echo Lake Dam since you're here. Some nearby water includes Heath Brook; White Birches Campground is a nice local campground. Lurvey Spring is a gorgeous place to pop by while you're at Valley Trail, and don't miss out on a visit to Acadia National Park while you're here.
Man of War Brook is near Valley Trail and is always a joy to pop by, and since you're here you must pop by Ikes Point.
