Piney Creek Trailhead is at the fire tower on MO 76 off MO 39. Shell Knob Campground doesn't exist. Baxter is 40 min. east of Shell Knob by road with tons of camping and lodging in between.

  Outdoors people generally like this part of Missouri. When was the last time you got out in nature a bit? Piney Creek Trail in Barry County, Missouri is the outdoors at it's best. Siloam Spring is always fun to check out. There are many hiking trails in the Ozarks where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains.
Piney Creek Trail is a rather wet place typically with a lot of rain; June is the wettest month with most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Piney Creek Trail is a trail quite far from Branson
    but hiking it is always fun. Piney Creek Trail is a great spot to visit for more than one day, Fisherman's Haven Resort is a great spot to camp nearby, and if you yearn for a little side trip, try Siloam Spring Hollow.
Just can't get enough of the Ozarks. Shell Knob Campground
is a magnificent campground nearby, and there's whitewater on Roaring River for all you adrenaline junkies. For the period of the long summer days here at Piney Creek Trail, high temperatures commonly get into the 80's, and the overnight is somewhat cooler of course, mostly in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's while Piney Creek Trail overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 20's.
