Black Butte Trail is a very long way away from civilization and hiking along this trail is very enjoyable. Summertime highs at Black Butte Trail ordinarily tend to be in the 80's while night lows are mostly in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Black Butte Trail. Having a wonderful time in the Absaroka Range is easy. Camping at Spring Creek Campground and Trout Ranch is always a magnificent experience, and a great spot to camp here at Black     Butte Trail is Big Timber Koa Kampground. Coming to this river is always a good idea. Hiking trails are all over the Absaroka Range where beautiful scenery awaits you. Time to get out and breathe some fresh air, and if you happen to be in Sweet Grass County of Montana, Black Butte Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. There are some brilliant whitewater spots on Stillwater River, and Jims Gulch is another wonderful place to check out nearby.
