In the Cabinet Mountains there are many great hiking trails, it's a great hiking area. Blacktail Trail is a location that is quite waterless generally; November is the wettest month with most rain, and August is the month with the least moisture.

Creek Campground is a tremendous spot for that. If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Cabinet Mountains. Visit Colonite Creek since you're here at Blacktail Trail, and Blacktail Trail is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Pleasant
| Valley Campground is a delightful local campground.
Because Blacktail Trail is very far from civilization hiking is such a fun thing to do and this is a great place to do that. Through the summer months at Blacktail Trail temperatures are regularly in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. For the period of the wintertime highs are usually in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Blacktail Trail throughout the winter regularly sink into the 10's.
