  Hiking here in Montana is a must. Because Divide Trail is very far from civilization hiking along this trail is very enjoyable. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Divide Trail. Summer night lows fall down to the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Divide Trail sink into the 0's. Coming to this river is always a good idea.
Around Divide Trail you don’t get a lot of rainfall; June is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
    If you came for an overnight stay Alta Campground is a good place to camp; drift down the rapids of Salmon River in a kayak. There are many hiking trails in the Bitterroot Range where beautiful scenery awaits you.
