| | We all need to get out in nature once in a while and Horse Mountain Trail in Lincoln County, Montana is such a great place. During the warmest time of the year, highs generally are in the 80's at Horse Mountain Trail. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's; overnight lows in the 10's for Horse Mountain Trail. Camping at Libby Creek Campground is always a magnificent experience.
Horse Mountain Trail is very far from the nearest big city and hiking along this trail is very enjoyable. |

The amount of precipitation that falls at Horse Mountain Trail is close to the national average; November is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is July. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Kootenai River;
| camping is available at Lake Creek Campground.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Cabinet Mountains. There are some great whitewater spots on Vermilion River, and Horse Mountain Trail is close to Reinhart Gulch which is beyond doubt worth a visit. In the Cabinet Mountains there are many great hiking trails, it's a great hiking area. Montana is a great outdoors state.
