  If you are in Montana during hiking season you have to go hiking. Hitting the trails is always a fun thing to do and if you happen to be in Granite County of Montana, John Long Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. The surroundings of this river have so much to offer. It's always great to have a look at Lodgepole Spring, and nearby you stumble on Potato Gulch which is a glorious site to stop at. Summertime highs at John Long Trail regularly tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's.
    Through the winter highs are ordinarily in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at John Long Trail.
John Long Trail is pretty dehydrated ordinarily; most of the snow falls during January while July is regularly the driest month. Drift down the rapids of Blackfoot
River in a kayak, and a great place to camp here at John Long Trail is Beavertail Hill Campground.
Get drenched paddling on Rock Creek; camping is available at Grizzly Campground.
