Melissa: There are trails all up and down the Bitterroot Range. Head south on 93 and look for the signs, Lost Horse, Skalkaho Hwy has a lot. Bass Creek, Sheafman Creek, Fred Burr Trailhead, Roaring Lion, Coyote Coulee, Baker Lake, Trapper Peak, Trapper Creek Chaffin Creek....''Hiking the Bitterroots'' By Mort Arkava is a great book to help you get started.

Lookout Mountain Trail gets very little rainfall; the wettest month of the year is mostly May, that's the one that rains the most while July is usually the driest month.
