McDermott Trail

  Hiking in Montana is such a great thing to do. It's a long drive from Butte-Silver Bow to McDermott Trail but what a great place for hiking it is. Put on your hiking shoes and hit the trail, if you happen to be in Powell County of Montana, McDermott Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching.
In the Lewis Range you'll find lots of hiking trails where beautiful scenery awaits you. A fine site to camp here at McDermott Trail is Big Nelson
    Campground. Blackfoot River - North Fork is a great whitewater spot right next door to McDermott Trail; McDermott Trail is not far at all from Ovando. In case you donít mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling
on Blackfoot River. Why not camp at Blackfoot Canyon Campground while you're here at McDermott Trail. It is very dried out here at McDermott Trail typically. Of all the months in a year January is the one with the most snow while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summer brings highs in the 80's to McDermott Trail. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 40's. Highs during the winter are mostly in the 20's; overnight lows through the wintertime for McDermott Trail tend to be in the 0's.
