Far from civilization you find McDermott Trail and hiking it is always fun. This site, the Lewis Range, has so much outdoors cool stuff. Whitewater paddling is brilliant on Blackfoot River, and if you came to camp Blackfoot Canyon Campground is a perfect location to do that. Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching.
At McDermott Trail during the months of summer highs are in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at McDermott
| Trail dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. There are many wonderful hiking trails in the Lewis Range where you can absorb the beauty of these mountains. In the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Blackfoot River - North Fork. There's so much to do here at McDermott Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Big Nelson Campground is a brilliant site for that.
