Smith Creek Trail

  A long drive separates Helena from Smith Creek Trail, but many people like to hike here to be close to nature. In the Lewis Range you'll find lots of hiking trails, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains. In Montana you never run out of outdoors fun.

    a day at, Wood Lake Campground is a great local campground. All year is a great time in the Lewis Range if you have a thing about the outdoors. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Dearborn
River. Star Creek is a stream that you may come across during your stay. There are some good whitewater spots on Dearborn River, and camping at Copper Creek Campground is always a splendid experience. At Smith Creek Trail you always meet someone from Augusta. Not much rain falls here at Smith Creek Trail. May is the month that gets the most rain while February is ordinarily the driest month. All through the long summer days at Smith Creek Trail highs are frequently  
in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. Highs during the winter are typically in the 30's while Smith Creek Trail nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's.
