Spotted Bear River Trail
|
| | Trail #83. Used mostly by Pack teams. Last 2 miles to spotted bear pass cleared a day after we came through 7/29/08. Not much to see until you are near the top. Lots of water. larger creeks were still almost knee deep. No huckleberries. Plenty of biting flies and skeeters. Grade isn't too bad with a good climb after the pass to My lake. 3 days from Silvertip to My lake gave us time to hit the Chinese wall / Larch Pass on the 3rd day. 26 miles +-. My Lake is warm, |

has frogs and supposedly leeches. The mule deer think it is a petting zoo. Got quite windy and cool. We saw 18 mountain goats on the wall. 1 young Grizzle, 2 black bear cubs, 4 people, a few white tails, 10 mule deer on the journey.

Incredible trip, worth every step! We came back down to silvertip via Wall creek which is on the list to be cleared. Last fall horse tracks in mud like concrete, lots of blow downs on upper 2 miles of wall creek. When cleared this would be a decent trail. I would not recommend going to my lake up wall creek, Juliet creek, to larch hill pass, one steep up hill grind. Bungalow mountain trial looks like it hasn't been traveled | |

in years. We may still be up there if we had went that way. In my opinion. I have seen Hoop creek and yes it is a nice creek but I sure wouldn't put it into a ''flowing'' water or floatable catagorie! And I wouldn't call spotted bear pass ''near'' the middle fork of the the flathead river. Says Roy T
