The climb, right from the start, is extremely challenging. I like it because it gives a good workout. There are places on the trail where it is difficult to keep your footing, because the trail is so steep. Water Hill Trail being so far away from the nearest city it is a good trail. Spending too much time indoors got you down? No problem, Water Hill Trail in Sanders County, Montana is a really good place to spend some time. If you came for an overnight stay Thompson Falls Campground is a     good spot to camp, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Vermilion River. No chance of getting bored in Montana if you like the outdoors. You clearly must go for the Cabinet Mountains. West Fork Cataract Creek is a great local stream, and camping is available at Thompson Falls State Park Campground. Through the long summer days highs here at Water Hill Trail get into the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's; overnight lows in the 10's for Water Hill Trail.
