| | There are many wonderful hiking trails in the Lewis Range where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains. West Lakes Trail is a trail quite far from Kalispell but hiking is such a fun thing to do and this is a great place to do that. Summertime highs at West Lakes Trail regularly tend to be in the 70's with overnight lows in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's while West Lakes Trail overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 0's.

West Lakes Trail is pretty dried out frequently; December is the month that gets the most snow; the driest of the months
| is April. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Lewis Range. Get soaked paddling on Flathead River - Middle Fork. There's so much to do here at West Lakes Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Big Creek Campground is a magnificent location for that. Glacier National Park is a fine location in close proximity to West Lakes Trail, and glide down the rapids of Flathead River - Middle Fork in a kayak.
If you came to camp Upper Big Creek Campground is a tremendous place to do that, and West Lakes Trail is not far at all from Kalispell. | |
