  In the Lewis Range there are many great hiking trails where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains. Can’t wait to get out in nature, Whitetail Creek Trail in Lewis and Clark County, Montana is just the place. Whitetail Creek Trail is a location that is pretty waterless mostly; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is February.
This is such a fun river. There are some magnificent whitewater spots on Falls Creek, and Whitetail Creek Trail is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Copper Creek Campground
    is a brilliant local campground. Carmichael Basin is a wonderful place any time of year; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Dearborn River. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Whitetail Creek Trail. For the period
of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are generally in the 30's, and night lows all through the winter for Whitetail Creek Trail tend to be in the 10's.
Whitetail Creek Trail is in a quite desolate area and you always have a good time when you're hiking along it. As long as you like the outdoors you will like Montana. But wait, there's more amusing things to do in the Lewis Range. It's a tremendous idea to have a look at Lower Twin Creek, it's close to Whitetail Creek Trail, and a good
 
location to camp here at Whitetail Creek Trail is Wood Lake Campground.
