Dam Site Loop Trail is not far at all from Rocky Mount, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Tar River.
Porter Creek is a great local stream, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Roanoke River. All the water falling down from the sky makes Dam Site Loop Trail a wet place; the month of August is the wettest with |
most of the rain; the driest month is April.
