It's a long drive from Wilmington to History Trail but if you're looking for a good place to go hiking this is a good choice. Ok, you've been cooped up too long, time to get out in nature a bit and History Trail in Pender County, North Carolina is just the place. There's some flowing water close by, Lewis Branch is a stream you can go to while you're here. History Trail is not far at all from Currie; obviously Deer Valley Branch flows through this region.
If you came to camp Holland's Shelter Creek is a pleasant place to do that. History Trail is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Horses to Harleys Campground is a perfect local campground. A lot of rain falls at History Trail.
The month with most of the rain is July, and October is the month with the least moisture. Throughout the summertime highs here at History Trail reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's with temperatures at History Trail dipping down into the 30's throughout winter nights.
