I hiked this once a long time ago with my older brother. I think I was maybe 12 or 13 years old. I remember it being one of the best experiences of my life.

Shortoff Mountain Trail is located quite a long drive from Seneca but when you hike it you're always having a good time. The high level of rainfall makes Shortoff Mountain Trail a quite wet location; the wettest month of the year is mostly March, that's the one that rains the most, |

and October on the other hand is the driest. Yeah, come up here to the Blue Ridge Mountains for a great time. A quick tour to Big Norton Prong in the vicinity of Shortoff Mountain Trail is a tremendous idea, and if you come at the right time of year, Norton Creek offers some brilliant
| whitewater.
Cold Springs Saddle Club Dam is an exciting thing to check out; a perfect place to stop at nearby is Yellow Mountain Gap. If you're here at Shortoff Mountain Trail, you could take a look at Bad Branch. There's so much to do here at Shortoff Mountain Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Arrowmont Stables and Cabins is a brilliant site for that. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Shortoff Mountain Trail has to offer, you can camp at Van Hook Glade Campground, and there are some great whitewater spots on Cullasaja River.

Summertime at Shortoff Mountain Trail comes with high temperatures in the 80's while night lows are frequently in the 60's.
