  Shut-In Trail is not very near Asheville at all but what a great place for hiking it is. Hiking here in North Carolina is a must. But wait, there's more to do in the neighborhood of Shut-In Trail. If time allows, Blue Ridge Parkway is a national park worth checking out, and Rich Branch is one of the streams close by that might be worth checking out. Get wet paddling on Davidson River, and there's some flowing water nearby, Rocky Branch is a stream you can explore during your stay.
While staying at Shut-In Trail you could always discover Bent Creek
    Gap, and a glorious location to camp here at Shut-In Trail is Lake Powhatan Campground. There are many hiking trails in the Blue Ridge Mountains, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains.
