  Outdoors people generally like this part of North Carolina. We all need to get out in nature once in a while and Side Hill Trail in Buncombe County, North Carolina is the outdoors at it's best. During your visit to Side Hill Trail you'll meet some folks from Asheville for sure, and whitewater paddling is pleasant on French Broad River. Why not have a look at nearby Beaten Branch while you're here at Side Hill Trail, and stopping by Blue Ridge Parkway is just something you need to do if you haven't yet.
There's just no way anybody can get bored here
    at Side Hill Trail. Stay the night at Bear Creek RV Park and Campground, and Bent Creek Experimental Forest is a forest that you can go to. So many exciting things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains, not enough time. Boyd Branch is a wonderful stream that is worth checking out,
and you could always explore Ingles Fields Gap. High temperatures at Side Hill Trail all through the long summer days are in the 80's while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are generally in the 40's; nighttime lows in the 20's for Side Hill Trail.
A long drive separates Asheville from Side Hill Trail, but hiking it is always fun. Side Hill Trail is a magnificent spot to camp, Lake Powhatan Campground is a magnificent spot, and Lake Powhatan Dam is pretty. There are many wonderful hiking trails in the Blue Ridge
 
Mountains where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains.
There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Paddling on Looking Glass Creek is so much fun. Side Hill Trail sees pretty high levels of precipitation; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is October.
