| | Hiking trails are all over the Blue Ridge Mountains, it's a great hiking area. Thompson Ridge Trail is located quite a long drive from Brevard but hiking along this trail is very enjoyable. Otter Hole is quite near Thompson Ridge Trail, and drift down the rapids of Looking Glass Creek in a kayak. At Thompson Ridge Trail through the warm months highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Thompson Ridge Trail.
