A delightful site for whitewater paddling near Carlton Notch is Upper Ammonoosuc River - West Branch.
It's a long drive from Berlin to Carlton Notch but it is a great escape from the city. In the White Mountains you'll find lots of hiking trails, there's no better way |
to enjoy these mountains. So much exciting stuff to do here in the White Mountains, too great to be true. If you came to camp Timberland Camping Area is a glorious spot to do that, and some of the water close by flows, like Cold Brook.
This river is a great place to visit.
| You can run the rapids of Peabody River - West Branch close to Carlton Notch; swing by Snyder Brook it's a magnificent place to take a look at. The amount of precipitation that falls at Carlton Notch is close to the national average; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. If you are in New Hampshire during hiking season you have to go hiking.
Through the summer highs here at Carlton Notch reach the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's; nighttime lows at Carlton Notch through the winter mostly sink into the-10's. | |
