The shelter is a classic destination but if you take the time to hike to the back side you will find a much better location for fishing. The site supports a couple of six man tents as well

| | Finally, hiking time is here again, and Flat Mountain Pond Trail in Carroll County, New Hampshire is such a great place. In the White Mountains you'll find lots of hiking trails, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains. Flat Mountain Pond Trail gets a typical amount of yearly precipitation; August is when you get the most rain here while February is usually the driest month.
While visiting this area in New Hampshire it's a good idea to go hiking too. There are some great whitewater spots on Mad River. You'll need more than a day to explore |
