| | Gleason Trail is a long drive away from Laconia but when you hike it you're always having a good time. In the White Mountains there are many great hiking trails, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains. Finally, hiking time is here again, and Gleason Trail in Carroll County, New Hampshire is a perfect place for getting out.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the White Mountains. If you come at the right time of year, Smarts Brook offers some great whitewater, and why not take a little tour to Cold River if you're here. The amount of rainfall that |
falls at Gleason Trail is close to the national average; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while February is usually the driest month. A visit to New Hampshire is not complete without some hiking.
A fine site to camp here at Gleason Trail is Pass
| Campground, and float down the rapids of Mad River in a kayak. At Gleason Trail all through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 70's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 50's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's while Gleason Trail night low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 0's. You'll meet a lot of people from Laconia here, and a short visit to Fletcher Cascades is always worthwhile.
