Trail is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Baker River Campground is a perfect local campground; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Bailey Brook. Some brilliant nature is available in Welton Falls State Forest, and in case you don’t mind getting dripping wet,
| you can always go whitewater paddling on Fowler River. During the warm months highs here at Holt Trail reach the 80's while night lows are usually in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Holt Trail temperatures descend to the 0's. There's so much to do here at Holt Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Bear Mountain Rustic Campground LLC is a great site for that; Halls Brook has a delightful whitewater paddling spot nearby. You'll have to go far from Concord to get to Holt Trail but it is a great escape from the city. | |
