A long drive separates Berlin from Skookumchuck Trail, but it's one of those places where hiking is great. From a rainfall point of view Skookumchuck Trail is a rather common location; the wettest month of the year is regularly August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is February.

This river is so good. Cascade Brook has a brilliant whitewater paddling spot close by. Whitewater paddling is nice on Pemigewasset River. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Skookumchuck Trail has to offer, you can camp at Lafayette Campground.
