  A long drive separates Los Alamos from Alamo Springs Trail, but if you're looking for a good place to go hiking this is a good choice. You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while and Alamo Springs Trail in Sandoval County, New Mexico is such a great place. All through the warm months highs here at Alamo Springs Trail reach the 70's. Summer night lows dip down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Alamo Springs Trail dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. So
    many amusing things in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, just mind-blowing. There's so much to do here at Alamo Springs Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Juniper Campground is a brilliant location for that, and glide down the rapids of Rio Chama in a kayak.
Alamo
Springs Trail is typically a pretty dry location; most of the rain falls during August; May is the month with the least moisture. If time allows, Bandelier National Monument is a national park worth taking a look at; during your trip here you'll meet some folks from Los Alamos for sure. There are many wonderful hiking trails in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains where wonderful nature is waiting for you.
Alamo Springs Trail is good enough to spend more than a day at, Las Conchas Campground is a good local campground, and paddling on Rio Grande is so much fun. This part of New Mexico has a great deal of available outdoors activities.
