  Apache Trail is located quite a long drive from Espanola but what a great place for hiking it is. Gotta get out of the city man, and if you happen to be in Rio Arriba County of New Mexico, Apache Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. And if that's not sufficient there's plenty more enjoyable things to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Here at Apache Trail you'll possibly meet some folks from Espanola; get your pulse rate up on the wonderful whitewater of Rio Chama. This part of New Mexico is always a pleasure to visit
    during hiking season.
It's a great idea to pop by La Madera Arroyo, it's in the vicinity of Apache Trail, and if you came to camp Cottonwood RV Park is a good site to do that. Apache Trail is a location that is relatively waterless ordinarily; during August this area sees the
most rain, and the driest month is February. For the period of the long summer days here at Apache Trail, high temperatures usually reach the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Apache Trail.
There are many hiking trails in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains where you can absorb the beauty of these mountains. Why not check out close by Canada de la Corrales if you're here at Apache Trail. There's so much to do here at Apache Trail that you need to
 
camp here for a while, Abiquiu Inn is a wonderful place for that. If you want a wonderful time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Apache Trail.
All our national parks are fine places to check out, and Bandelier National Monument is no exception, and a great spot for whitewater paddling is Rio Ojo Caliente.
