  While visiting this area in New Mexico it's a good idea to go hiking too. Bancos Loop is usually a reasonably dehydrated place; August is the wettest month with most rain, and April on the other hand is the driest. At Bancos Loop throughout the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Bancos Loop drop into the 0's.
Bancos Loop is located quite a long drive from Los Alamos but many
    people like to hike here to be close to nature. In the San Juan Mountains there are many great hiking trails where wonderful nature is waiting for you. Can’t wait to get out in nature, if you happen to be in Rio Arriba County of New Mexico, Bancos Loop is a great local trail for
doing a bit of leg stretching.
There's so much to do here at Bancos Loop that you need to camp here for a while, Las Conchas Campground is a splendid site for that; popping by Bandelier National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. So much amusing stuff to do here at Bancos Loop, too great to be true. East Fork Polvadera Creek is in the vicinity of Bancos Loop and is always a joy to explore; in the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rio Chama.
El Rechuelos is one
 
of the streams close by that might be worth a visit; whitewater paddling is great on Rio Chama. So many fun things to do here in the San Juan Mountains, too good to be true. If you came to camp Abiquiu Inn is a great place to do that, and Bancos Loop is a spot with many visitors from Los Alamos.
