Rio Santa Cruz is a perfect whitewater spot near Bear Wallow Trail, and you're sure to encounter some nice folks from Santa Fe here. Bear Wallow Trail is ordinarily a reasonably arid site; during August this area sees the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. Trail is a national park worth stopping at, and camping is available at Tesuque Pueblo RV Campground. The warmest time of the year at Bear Wallow Trail comes with high temperatures in the 90's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Through the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 40's,
| and night lows at Bear Wallow Trail during the winter typically drop into the 10's. If you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rio Embudo, and South Fork Tesuque Creek is close to Bear Wallow Trail and is always a diversion to take a look at. Camping at Big Tesuque Campground is always a pleasant experience, and there's some flowing water nearby, North Fork Tesuque Creek is a stream you can stop by during your stay. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot.
