  Spending too much time indoors got you down? No problem, Bland Bear Springs Trail in Sandoval County, New Mexico is the outdoors at it's best. A long drive separates Los Alamos from Bland Bear Springs Trail, but it is one of many great trails in this area. The vistas at Bandelier National Monument will blow your mind, and there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Rio Grande. In the San Juan and Jemez Mountains you'll find lots of hiking trails where beautiful scenery awaits you.
Be careful coming to the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, you might not
    ever want to go home again. Camping at Jemez Falls - Santa Fe National Forest is always a glorious experience; there are plenty of people from Los Alamos here.
At Bland Bear Springs Trail all through the months of summer highs are in the 70's. All through the moonlight hours
it's usually in the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Bland Bear Springs Trail temperatures drop to the 0's. Bland Bear Springs Trail is great enough to spend more than a day at, Las Conchas Campground is a great local campground, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Jemez River. This part of New Mexico is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season.
