  Gotta get out of the city man, and Caballo Trail in Los Alamos County, New Mexico is just the place. As long as you like the outdoors you will like New Mexico. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Rio Chama; Bandelier National Monument is a very fine spot to check out. In the San Juan and Jemez Mountains you'll find lots of hiking trails, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains.
Caballo Trail is located quite a long drive from Los Alamos but it sure is a nice trail. If you came for an overnight stay Las Conchas Campground is a good place to camp,
    and if you crave a little side journey, try Vallecito de los Caballos.
Around Caballo Trail you don’t get a lot of rain; throughout August this area sees the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. If you come at the right time of year, Rio Grande offers some
wonderful whitewater. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. There are plenty of folks from Los Alamos here at Caballo Trail; why not camp at Juniper Campground if you're here at Caballo Trail.
During the long summer days, highs mostly are in the 80's at Caballo Trail with night lows in the 50's. For the duration of the winter the highs are regularly in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Caballo Trail.
