Caballo Trail

  Ok, you've been cooped up too long, time to get out in nature a bit and Caballo Trail in Los Alamos County, New Mexico is just what you need. Hiking in New Mexico is such a great thing to do. Caballo Trail is not very near Los Alamos at all but it's one of those places where hiking is great.
Hiking trails are all over the San Juan and Jemez Mountains where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains. Vallecito de los Caballos is a glorious site
    to look at, and why not camp at Las Conchas Campground while you're here at Caballo Trail. Yep, outdoors enjoyable stuff truly is plentiful here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. The good people of Los Alamos like to hang out close
by; Bandelier National Monument is a very great place to stop at. A wonderful place to camp here at Caballo Trail is Juniper Campground; Rio Grande has a great whitewater paddling spot close by. Paddling on Rio Chama is so much fun. Caballo Trail is a location that is pretty dehydrated typically. All through August this area sees the most rain; February is the month with the least moisture. For the duration of the summertime at Caballo Trail highs are regularly  
in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Caballo Trail are in the 10's.
