I haven't hiked in this area in a while, because a private land owner has put up a gate and blocked access to this Trailhead and Cole Springs Picnic Area.

| | Time to get out and breathe some fresh air, and Canoncito Trail in Bernalillo County, New Mexico is a perfect place for getting out. Canoncito Trail is a location that is pretty dried out mostly; August is when you get the most rain here while November is regularly the driest month. There's so much to do here at Canoncito Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Turquoise Trail Campgrounds is a great place for that, and don't leave Canoncito Trail without first paying a visit to Torro Spring.

the days of summer are in the 90's with nighttime lows in the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Canoncito Trail plunge into the 20's. Here at Canoncito Trail there are plenty of people from Albuquerque;

You'll have to go far from Albuquerque to get to Canoncito Trail but many people like to hike here to be close to nature. Canoncito Trail is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Sandia Crest Camping Resort is a magnificent local campground, and a spree to Cole Spring will fill your spirit with glorious feelings. | |
