  A long drive separates Los Alamos from Capulin Trail, but it's one of those places where hiking is great. We all need to get out in nature once in a while and Capulin Trail in Los Alamos County, New Mexico is just the place. If you came to camp Juniper Campground is a pleasant site to do that. Here at Capulin Trail you'll in all probability meet some people from Los Alamos; naturally, all our national parks are great spots to pop by and Bandelier National Monument is no exception.
There are many wonderful hiking trails in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains,
    there's no better way to enjoy these mountains. Don't leave Capulin Trail without first paying a visit to Los Utes Spring, and in case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Jemez River. Not much precipitation falls here at Capulin
Trail; through the month of August you get the most rain around here while May is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
Hiking in New Mexico is such a great thing to do. All through the days of summer, highs typically are in the 70's at Capulin Trail. For the period of the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 40's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and overnight lows throughout the winter for Capulin Trail tend to be in the 0's.
Man, is there plenty of fun things to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Camping at Las Conchas Campground is always a great experience, and Rio Grande is a tremendous whitewater spot close by.
