Far from civilization you find Crest Trail and if you're looking for a good place to go hiking this is a good choice. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff in the San Francisco Mountains. A nice spot for whitewater paddling near Crest Trail is San Francisco River; don't leave Crest Trail without first paying a visit to Little Hobo Spring. a magnificent site to camp; the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Black Tail Spring.
The surroundings of this river have so much to offer. West Fork Saddle is close to Crest Trail and is a splendid location; you can run the rapids of Gila River. Outdoors people generally

Willow Creek Campground is a brilliant campground here. Around Crest Trail you don’t get a lot of precipitation; throughout the month of July you get the most rain around here while April is mostly the driest month. Hiking trails are all over the San Francisco Mountains where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains.
During the summer highs here at Crest Trail get into the 90's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 50's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for Crest Trail tend to be in the 20's. | |
