  Pretty far from Alamogordo you find Crest Trail but it's one of those places where hiking is great. Finally, hiking time is here again, and Crest Trail in Lincoln County, New Mexico is just what you need. A fine spot to camp here at Crest Trail is Skyline Campground I; Bonito Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth going to. A visit to New Mexico is not complete without some hiking.
For the duration of the days of summer here at Crest Trail, high temperatures regularly reach the 90's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's.
    The winter brings highs down to the 50's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Crest Trail temperatures drop to the 20's. There are many wonderful hiking trails in the Sacramento Mountains where wonderful nature is waiting for you.
Whohoo, so many entertaining
things in one place! Crest Trail is unbeatable!. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can go to Bonito Dam; South Fork Rio Bonito is close to Crest Trail and is always a pleasure to visit. Crest Trail is frequently a pretty dry location; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and April is the month with the least moisture.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Sacramento Mountains. A short spree to Fox Spring is always worthwhile, and Telephone Canyon is another glorious site to have a look at close by. Camping at Skyline Campground II is always a fine experience; Little Creek Spring is always fun to check out.
