| | Hiking in New Mexico is such a great thing to do. In the Sacramento Mountains you'll find lots of hiking trails where you can absorb the beauty of these mountains. Crest Trail is not very near Alamogordo at all but when you hike it you're always having a good time. It is very dried out here at Crest Trail typically; the month with most of the rain is August, and April is the month with the least moisture. Crest Trail is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Skyline Campground I is a wonderful local campground, and swing by South Fork Rio Bonito it's a tremendous spot to pop by. This site is so good, just check out all the cool things to do in the neighborhood of Crest Trail. During the summertime, highs commonly are in the 90's at Crest Trail, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are typically in the 50's, and night lows in the 20's for Crest Trail. The scenery at Bonito Dam close to Crest Trail is beautiful; do put some time aside to spend at Fox Spring while you're here at Crest Trail. | |
