There are many hiking trails in the San Francisco Mountains, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains. Throughout the summertime at Escondido Trail temperatures are frequently in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are frequently in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Escondido Trail temperatures descend to the 10's. |
At Escondido Trail you don’t see much precipitation; during August this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is April.
If you came for an overnight stay Quemado Lake Campground is a great site to camp; El Morro National Monument is a wonderful national
| park. Spending too much time indoors got you down? No problem, Escondido Trail in Catron County, New Mexico is just what you need.
Hiking here in New Mexico is a must. Baca Spring is a good local attraction. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the San Francisco Mountains. Armijo Campground is a magnificent campground here, and Leyba Spring is always fun to check out.
