  In the San Juan and Jemez Mountains there are many great hiking trails where you can absorb the beauty of these mountains. As long as you like the outdoors you will like New Mexico. Guaje Canyon Trail is pretty waterless mostly; the month with most of the rain is August, and the driest month is February.
Finally, hiking time is here again, and Guaje Canyon Trail in Los Alamos County, New Mexico is just the place. So many exciting things to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, too magnificent to be true. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on
    Rio Grande; camping at Las Conchas Campground is always a glorious experience. Guaje Canyon Trail is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Juniper Campground is a splendid local campground, and Bandelier National Monument is a very magnificent site to explore.
Get covered
with water paddling on Rio Chama, and while you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby Los Alamos. Guaje Canyon Trail is a long drive away from Los Alamos but what a great place for hiking it is.
Summer brings highs in the 80's to Guaje Canyon Trail, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Guaje Canyon Trail.
