  Put on your hiking shoes and hit the trail, Guaje Ridge Trail in Los Alamos County, New Mexico is such a great place. You'll have to go far from Los Alamos to get to Guaje Ridge Trail but many people like to hike here to be close to nature. Summertime highs at Guaje Ridge Trail ordinarily tend to be in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Guaje Ridge Trail. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Guaje Ridge Trail has to
    offer, you can camp at Juniper Campground; if you're visiting from Los Alamos, you won't be the only one.
There are many wonderful hiking trails in the San Juan Mountains where wonderful nature is waiting for you. There's so much to do here at Guaje Ridge Trail that you need
to camp here for a while, Las Conchas Campground is a pleasant place for that; there are some glorious whitewater spots on Rio Chama.
So much fun stuff to do in the San Juan Mountains, not enough time. You might want to pay a visit to Vallecito de los Caballos if you're here at Guaje Ridge Trail; if you haven’t been to Bandelier National Monument, you have to schedule some time for it since you're here. This part of New Mexico is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season. If you come at the right time of year, Rio Grande offers some good whitewater.
 
Guaje Ridge Trail is pretty waterless usually; August is when you get the most rain here; February is the month with the least moisture.
